Each Day The Tulsa Office
of the State Department of Environmental Quality uses a scientific
formula to forecast the Ozone buildup in the Tulsa Area. When the
conditions warrant it, an Ozone Alert! is called. It is usually
determined by 3:00 P.M. for the next day. The front page of OzoneAlert.Com
indicates Tulsa's Ozone Alert! Status at all times.
When an Alert is called, the Tulsa
Air Quality Committee goes to work to inform the public. Area
News Media, (television,radio, and newspapers) are informed and
they broadcast or print the alert. The Committee also faxes the
alert to Tulsa company Ozone Alert! Coordinators who put their
Ozone Alert! Plan into action.
